The 48-Hour Reset: A Weekend With No Packed Schedule

A simple 48-hour getaway itinerary built around one idea: come home less tired than when you left.

A weekend away does not need a color-coded itinerary. Sometimes what we need most is a beautiful room, a long breakfast and enough empty space to remember what it feels like not to rush. Friday evening: arrive gently. Unpack. Choose one relaxed dinner and let the first night be quiet. Saturday morning: make breakfast the event. Pick one beautiful thing for the morning—a spa appointment, beach walk, museum, market or neighborhood you have wanted to explore. Saturday afternoon: leave it open. Read by the pool. Take a nap. Wander into a shop. Have a long lunch. Saturday evening: choose one reservation worth dressing for. Sunday: coffee, one last walk and an unhurried trip home. The best souvenir from a weekend away may be coming home less tired than when you left.
